Oceanus 1 enters service for cable projects in Taiwan
The Vietnam-built vessel expands subsea infrastructure installation capacity in the region.

The cable-laying vessel Oceanus 1 entered service in Taiwan after arriving in Kaohsiung on September 16. Built in Vietnam for ATE Energy International, it was designed for conditions in the Taiwan Strait.
The vessel has a carousel capable of holding up to 8,000 tonnes of cable, DPS 2 dynamic positioning and an SMD Quasar III work-class ROV. Its modular deck supports different configurations for cable transport, installation, protection and repair, as well as survey work.
Synergy Marine will provide technical and crew management. The vessel accommodates up to 77 people and can support offshore energy and subsea transmission projects, subject to the contracts for each campaign.
