On September 8, Shearwater Geoservices announced a seven-week ocean bottom node survey contract in the North Sea. The campaign was presented as the first commercial deployment of its newly installed electric ROVs.

SW Tasman will operate as the ROV vessel, equipped with Pearl nodes, while SW Gallien will act as the source vessel. Tasman has worked as an ROV vessel since early 2024; the new development is its configuration with the electric systems.

The announcement places electrification within a specific subsea data acquisition operation. At the time of the announcement, operations were due to start shortly after the equipment upgrade. That source did not report the campaign’s completion.
